Amen Igbinosun

Amen Igbinosun is an actor, writer, director, producer, educator, and arts leader whose work centers experimental performance, cultural memory, and expansive storytelling across the African diaspora. He is the Executive Director of JACK Arts Inc. in Brooklyn, an experimental theater space known for bold interdisciplinary work, artist driven development, and community rooted practice. At JACK, he leads artistic vision, programming, producing, and institutional growth while supporting some of the most adventurous contemporary performance being made today. As a performer, his work spans stage and screen, including a recurring role on TNT’s The Last Ship, and collaborations with artists such as Taylor Mac on The Lily’s Revenge at the American Repertory Theater and Dmitry Krymov, most recently performing in Metamorphoses with Krymov Lab at La MaMa.

Trained at the American Repertory Theater and the Moscow Art Theatre Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University, Amen studied in Moscow, where he first encountered Krymov’s work and was drawn to a theater language built on image, precision, and risk. That experience continues to shape his practice today, bringing together strong craft and experimentation, and treating theater as a place where people gather to remember, imagine, and reckon with the world around them.
